We are more powerful than we appear to be.

  About ten thousand years ago, an unspeakable force was released from deep within Ieten, a world that lies between dimensions. It revealed itself to be a lowly Daoul, a species that seeks nothing but the misery of their victims. He called himself Savaut, and he claimed the world of Leiht would soon learn the reason of his coming...

  At the same time of Savaut's appearance, a bright light burst from the region of Ryoumu. Savaut sensed that it was what he had come for, and instantly went to find it. For over one hundred years, many other men and women tried to reach it before him...but they were fools. Savaut took away the lives of everyone that stood in his path, crushing them like dust beneath his feet. However, after the hundred years passed, someone managed to slip by him unnoticed. It was a girl - a Sanei to be exact. She was only twelve as she ran through the thickening trees of the forest, determined to get to the source of light before Savaut discovered her.

  She succeeded.

  As she ran into a clearing, she gazed at what lay before her. It was an orb. Now, orbs aren’t normally as important as we make them up to be, mind you. But this orb wasn’t like any other. It glowed with an ethereal light and was as clear as crystal. In fact, that’s exactly what it was! It was a crystal orb. The girl walked over to it, and picked it up. Immediately, she was filled with the energy of the orb, and lifted slightly off the ground, her body arching backwards. Her eyes glowed white and another burst of light blasted skyward - as big as when the orb had first arrived.
  Savaut noticed this and instantly headed off towards the clearing. When he got there, however, the girl wasn't as she once was. She was no longer some helpless Sanei...the crystal orb had given her amazing power. Many people who had survived Savaut's slaughtering witnessed the girl's standing up to him. Peering through the trees of the forest, they saw her glare into his eyes - her own gleaming like the light that shone from the orb.

  Savaut had no chance. The girl raised her arms towards him, blasting him with a radiant force of light. Savaut persisted and tried to break free, but it was too much for him. The light tore him apart, and he was defeated.

  Or at least...it appeared that way.

  Even as the people of Leiht rejoiced her victory, the girl couldn’t shake the feeling that Savaut had survived. Though, as time passed and peace took control of the world, the memory of her battle slipped into the depths of her mind. As for the crystal orb, the people of Ryoumu decided to build a shrine - somewhere to keep it safe from harm. Ten thousand years later, the shrine still stands. The crystal orb was given the name of Cryseiht.

  And as for the girl...her name was Kiaru.
